Fundraising Trustee 2025-28
Tigers4Ever
Date: 8 hours ago
City: Warrington
Contract type: Full time

Are you passionate about giving wild tigers a wild future?
Are you an experienced fundraiser with the skills, knowledge, experience & time to help an established tiger conservation charity build upon its recent successes?
What difference will you make?
Our current board has skills which include CSR, Grant fundraising & individual/digital fundraising experience, however, the demand for our services is increasing year on year so we need to bring new ideas & skills to the board to ensure our continued growth. To meet the demand & the challenges we currently face, we need additional support from Grant & Trust Fundraisers, Legacy Fundraisers and those with HNW, CSR or philanthropic fundraising experience, We have seen wild tiger numbers quintuple in just 15 years, where we work; we recently added new ambitious habitat restoration projects to our portfolio, and are expanding our existing projects (especially with the creation of larger wildlife waterholes to cope with a growing wild elephant population) to ensure that this growth and momentum can be sustained. To achieve this, we need to continue to raise our existing profile; reach a wider supporter base and develop new income streams. The new trustees (we have up to 4 opportunities available as 3 of our trustees will step down at the end of their current term early in 2026) will ideally bring a wealth of experience in CSR and/or Grant Fundraising and/or legacy/HNW fundraising enabling Tigers4Ever to continue to grow to meet its current & future demands.
We now need to develop our legacy fundraising, increase our grant funding opportunities and seek corporate or philanthropic sponsorship to help us sustain our long-term goals. If you have any or all of these skills, and the time to commit to an active role, you will have the chance to make a major contribution to both the future of Tigers4Ever and the future wild tiger population in India.
What are we looking for?
About The Role
Tigers4Ever is currently recruiting up to 4 new trustees to enhance the skills of its current Board and bring fresh perspectives to our future challenges and development. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing charity, which has made a huge impact in wild tiger conservation; and contribute to its future success/strategic direction. As a Tigers4Ever Trustee you will be involved in decisions in the Board Meetings which ensure that we comply with our legislative obligations & pursue our specific objectives. The successful applicant will have a key role in developing and growing our future fundraising strategy so we can address the new challenges and additional demand for help which we face. Specifically, you will help to drive the fundraising efforts of Tigers4Ever to ensure that we have sufficient financial resources to deliver our strategic objectives and ensure that our aims are achieved so that a real public benefit will continue to be realised in wild tiger conservation.
Tigers4Ever is a charitable trust, so you need to be over 18 to apply.
About The Applicants
We are looking for individuals to guide the charity through the next 3 years of growth & development and beyond.
We have multiple vacancies as we seek to expand the skills of the current board so it is not essential for applicants to have all the skills listed below. Most importantly, applicants should have the time, commitment, passion & enthusiasm to help Tigers4Ever to achieve its objective to give wild tigers a wild future. Specifically we would like to recruit individuals with skills & expertise in the following areas
What will you be doing?
Tigers4Ever has been giving wild tigers wild futures since 2010 in Madhya Pradesh, India. Our success has led to progressive growth and increasing demand to do more.
Our current Board of Trustees comprises 12 members 5 female/7 male with a diverse skill-set. Aside of our founder members, trustees commit to an initial term of 3 years following a 3-month induction period. We have on-going recruitment to ensure we can replace trustees who complete their terms with a handover period wherever possible. We now need to expand our board's skillset to address the new challenges we face and ensure that we can replace two trustees who plan to retire in 2026.
Our projects are community focused to encourage those living with wild tigers want to protect them & give them a wild future. We achieve our objectives by Providing Anti-Poaching Patrols and vital equipment for wild tiger protection; Reducing human-animal & tiger-tiger conflict; Forest re-habitation projects; & Providing Educational opportunities for children from the poorest rural communities living with wild tigers.
Our first of its kind “Buffer Zone Anti-Poaching Patrol” established in July 2015 in Bandhavgarh has reduced unnatural wild tiger deaths by 98% in 10 years. Buffer Forests around wild tiger reserves account for 95% of unnatural wild tiger deaths annually. Historically, Buffer forests weren't patrolled and were littered with wire snares, jaw traps & tethered snares. Our Patrols search the buffer forest for poacher’s traps, seeking to disarm them before tigers, etc. fall prey. Patrols in the buffer forest act as a deterrent to poachers who fear capture if their traps are discovered. Since 2016, our Patrols have aided early identification of/quenching forest fires which are common in the hot dry season. Such actions save the lives of many forest dwellers not just wild tigers.
We've provided permanent wildlife waterholes for year-round use at 26 critical locations, where water is scarce from January-July, annually. Our waterholes offer stability to the prey base; help reduce human-tiger & tiger-tiger conflict & help save the lives of 130+ wild tigers.
Our Board meets virtually 4-5 times per year for approx. 3 hrs. Sub-groups are formed for specific projects/fundraiser planning, as needed. We encourage our Trustees to be involved with our annual fundraising events.
