We are currently recruiting for a Freight Forwarding Manager to join our clients Freight Management Team based in Dyce, Aberdeen.

Job Purpose:

Manages and leads a team of employees. Communicates Company goals, safety practices and deadlines to team. Motivates team members and assesses performance.

Provides help to management including recruitment and training, and keeps management updated on team performance. Communicates concerns and policies among Management and Team Members

Lead operational business development. Assist with creation and growth of Freight Forwarding team. Build customer relationships, both existing and new.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Operational management of Freight Forwarding team.
  • Assist with improvement and growth of Freight forwarding Service Line.
  • Provide operational input to Business Development team and assist with tenders.
  • Attend industry events and conferences, with both operational and commercial aspects.
  • Assess Freight Forwarding requests for quotations in line with our clients services.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation for both the company and their clients.
  • Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks
  • Assists management with hiring processes and new team member training
  • Answers team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance
  • Ensures company brand materials and physical working spaces meet and exceed company presentation standards
  • Provides quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints
  • Operational Management of Freight Forwarding team
  • Assist Customs Manager with internal and external training
  • Attend client meetings with Customs Manager and other Managers as required
  • Maintain and Manage Client KPIs
  • Contribute to department cost management and P&L forecasting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Educated to Standard Grade Level
