The role
As a Fleet Operative Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for providing a transport service, which includes driving a variety of military and civilian vehicles, on and off road.
Day-to-day, you will primarily drive various vehicles to transport military personnel to locations across the UK and occasionally abroad. You will also drive Military and Commercial vehicles, including electric vehicles, coaches and HGV’s in support of contracted tasks.
Essential Experience Of The Fleet Operative Driver
The successful candidate must be able to achieve Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.

The role
As a Fleet Operative Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for providing a transport service, which includes driving a variety of military and civilian vehicles, on and off road.
Day-to-day, you will primarily drive various vehicles to transport military personnel to locations across the UK and occasionally abroad. You will also drive Military and Commercial vehicles, including electric vehicles, coaches and HGV’s in support of contracted tasks.
- To transport eligible personnel and/or equipment to and from the appropriate training exercise or other entitled military duty and ensure their safe carriage
- To drive any one of the multi-disciplined vehicles
- Complete department administrative tasks when required
- Deal with the day to day customer queries in a professional, positive and enthusiastic manner
- Responsible for carrying out a high standard of Level 1 (User) maintenance (Before, During & After Use Checks) on a wide range of Military, cars, HGV’s, coaches including electric vehicles, haulage vehicles and trailers.
Essential Experience Of The Fleet Operative Driver
- Proven track record of working with vehicles
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Customer focused with the ability to build positive working relationships
- Flexible approach to working hours; overtime may be a necessity, but not guaranteed.
- Ability to work both as an individual and as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Full B license
- Full D license
