We have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Controller to join the team! We’re flexible on the location of the candidate – but ideally you’d need to be based between Oxford & Pampisford.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fleet Controller to join our Transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing control and support to the Transport Department and wider Huws Gray Group business, with the responsibility of prioritising the availability of safe and legal transport assets. To be the interface between transport maintenance providers and transport management.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fleet Controller to join our Transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing control and support to the Transport Department and wider Huws Gray Group business, with the responsibility of prioritising the availability of safe and legal transport assets. To be the interface between transport maintenance providers and transport management.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Provide exceptional service to our internal customers, the first time and every time.
- Be the day-to-day point of contact for 3rd party maintenance providers, including authorisation of asset repairs against set parameters and escalation processes.
- Minimising asset downtime, including liaising with service providers and branches.
- Escalation of transport concerns to transport management.
- Data entry & upkeep of fleet management system.
- Creation of relevant reports using Excel/fleet systems.
- Monitor service agents to ensure service standards / levels are adhered to.
- Qualified Road Transport Engineer or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of lorry-loader cranes, and plant equipment. (Prefereable)
- Experience and knowledge of maintenance job costs including parts & labour.
- National CPC holder. (Preferable)
- Full driving licence. (Vocational Preferable)
- Fleet management experience across a multi-site business.
- Experience in streamlining administrative processes.
- Excellent links within the road transport industry.
- 24 days holiday, plus bank holidays. (32 days per year)
