Summary

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Financial Transactions & Systems Manager to lead our transactional finance team here at Pobl Group, and get involved in finance projects. This is a fixed term role until 30/09/26 with a hybrid working pattern. You’ll make sure our financial processes run smoothly, accurately, and in line with legislation – all while developing your team to be the best they can be.

Where does this role fit in?

We are a Housing, Care and Support organisation working across Wales. We manage services for thousands of customers, which means our financial operations are busy and varied.

This role sits within our Finance team and reports directly to the Financial Controller. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, operational teams, suppliers, customers, and the wider finance function and have line management of our Finance Transactional team. You’ll also be the go to expert for all transactional finance matters, ensuring processes are compliant, efficient, and well managed.

What skills and experience do you need?

We’re looking for someone who can bring a mix of leadership skills, technical knowledge, and a proactive mindset.

Essential

  • Proven experience managing transactional finance teams, inspiring confidence, and developing others.
  • Strong numeracy skills and experience with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to improve processes and develop internal financial controls.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to adapt your style for different people and situations.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading transactional functions in a project capacity.
  • Part qualified accountant or equivalent relevant experience.

Desirable

  • Project management qualification.
  • Experience introducing continuous improvements in transactional processes.

What are the pay and benefits?

  • The salary for this role is £51,915 for a 37 hour, full time. Fixed term position until 30/09/26
  • Hybrid working – mostly home working with office time as and when required. Our main offices are in Cardiff, Newport, and Swansea.
