The Company and Group


Global Ridgeway Management Limited was formed in 2012 as an administrative, accounting and back office service company providing global support to a number of financial service companies owned by the family office of an overseas entrepreneur.


The financial services companies included insurance companies, reinsurance companies, insurance/reinsurance brokers primarily located in Africa but with global business in the US, Asia, Middle East and Africa.


The Role


Accounting/reporting


  • Annual financial statements production and managing audit process
  • Monthly management accounts for various entities
  • Cash flow reports for the Global Group
  • Annual budget and 5 year projections
  • Managing the credit rating process with 2 rating agencies
  • Treasury management across several countries, payment management
  • Global reporting pack for the Family Office
  • Taxation – VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax for the UK Group


Team/management


  • Supervision of UK based finance team and development thereof
  • Relationship management across different departments, countries, languages
  • Credit control supervision across the Group with regular Zoom calls
  • New accounting standards review and implementation across the Group, ensuring consistency and compliance.


Corporate Governance and Ad Hoc tasks


  • Membership of Audit, Finance and Investments Committee
  • Systems management and development
  • New systems implementation and integration into the existing system architecture
  • Reporting pack development and automation
  • New investment assessment and recomnmendation
  • New company set up – infrastructure, staffing, systems, procedures, compliance, corporate governance


The Requirements


  • Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA with at least 5 years post qualified experience
  • Financial services experience preferable (IFRS17)
  • Accounting systems experience – SAGE preferably
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (macro level preferred)
  • Self starter
  • Strong communication skills and clarity – as the person will be dealing with some countries where English is not the first language.
  • Staff management experience
  • Some foreign travel will be required
