Fairport Tunnelling Technologies (FTT) became a newly established division of Fairport Engineering Limited in 2021. Fairport Engineering Limited have now been acquired by pxGroup and as a result FTT has now become pxFairport.

We are an Engineering and Projects Delivery business specialising in the design, installation, management and consultancy of bulk material handling systems across a number of sectors, with specific expertise in tunnelling, aggregates and ports. With long standing industry expertise, our recent history includes successfully delivering projects in the UK, Europe and Asian markets.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting a Financial Controller, required on a fixed term basis for Fairport Engineering (Sunderland site). The Financial Controller will be responsible for the presentation of financial statements to the senior management team and supervision of all accounting-related activities and internal controls over financial reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA / other relevant accounting qualification)
• A minimum of 5 years experience within finance, with 2 years at management level
• Technical knowledge of accounting standards and legislation
• Commercial awareness and understanding of decision making for the wider business
• Ability to manage a small finance team and ensure deadlines are adhered to
• Strong excel skills and knowledge of accounting software (Sage desirable)
• Knowledge of job costing (experience within the manufacturing or construction industry desirable)
• Ability to travel to our different UK offices as required
