Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant role in a fast-paced events business – broad remit, hybrid working, and a chance to lead and grow within a dynamic team.

We’re hiring for a Financial Accountant to join a growing finance team within a fast-paced, hybrid-working events business based in London. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant looking to take on a broad remit across month-end, reporting, team management, and process improvement.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with just 2 days in the office a week.

Key Duties:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure timely month-end close
• Post accruals, prepayments, and all necessary journal entries
• Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations
• Deliver event-specific financial reporting and support wider business analysis
• Prepare and submit weekly cash flow forecasts to senior leadership
• Oversee VAT returns across the UK and several European jurisdictions
• Support interim and year-end audits, liaising with external auditors
• Approve staff expenses and oversee transactional finance activity
• Manage finance queries and invoicing via the JIRA ticketing system
• Supervise and develop Finance Analysts, encouraging team growth and collaboration
• Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders across commercial, delivery, marketing and tech teams
• Help implement and improve financial controls and reporting processes
  
  

Key Skills:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 5+ years’ industry experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, with hands-on experience preparing management accounts
• Proficient in NetSuite and Excel (including VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables)
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members is desirable
• Knowledge of VAT across multiple jurisdictions
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
