You’ll work from home and travel to work collaboratively on occasion, typically within the Bristol area, being in the South West is preferred.

The Role

The Finance Manager will ensure robust financial management across the business impacting both strategic and day-to-day financial activities. You will take ownership of financial processes and systems including the transition to the new system Oracle Net Suite.


You will engage with the Consulting team on projects across the business, working collaboratively with the Senior Management team and Company Directors to provide project financial oversight, manage budgets and generate accurate management accounts. Reporting to the COO your day-to-day responsibilities will include:


  • Leading the transition and operation of the Oracle Net Suite Finance system
  • Taking ownership of management reporting on business performance
  • Management of both month end and year end processes and reporting
  • Processing of payroll and expenses on a monthly basis
  • Monitoring utilisation and project budgets across the business
  • Providing financial analysis to support key decisions
  • Highlighting opportunities to drive improved operational performance
  • Monitoring transactions and reviewing analysis to improve company cash management
  • Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported.
  • Managing Credit Control including monitoring and collection of aged debts.
  • Adhering to client reporting procedures
  • Supporting the CEO with improvement projects, ad-hoc initiatives and analysis.

Experience, qualifications & skills required

  • Fully Qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA / CPA or other recognised accounting qualification
  • Post qualification experience at Finance Manager or similar level
  • Tools: Advanced skills in MS Excel, Oracle NetSuite experience essential
  • Skilled in producing and presenting high quality financial data and reports
  • Proven track record in producing accurate management accounts
  • Experience in handling budgeting and project accounting processes
  • Experience of successfully managing financial system transition or development


  • A professional, clear and concise communicator able to develop strong working relationships with ease and collaborate effectively - internally with teams and externally with clients.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, drive best practice and improve processes and procedures.
  • A resolute problem solver, able to offer quick and creative solutions to problems.
  • An analytical thinker, able to analyse large volumes of data and clearly communicate findings.
  • Exceptional time management skills, able to prioritise, plan and meet strict deadlines.
  • Confident liaising and influencing at all levels, able to offer intelligent debate, communicate complexity clearly and challenge constructively.


  • Happy to travel to in person finance meetings as required (likely Bristol / South West)
  • Previous experience of and comfortable with remote working is required
  • Current right to live and work in the UK
  • Current SC clearance or willing and eligible to undergo a Security Clearance check*

  • Experience within the professional services / consulting sector
  • Leadership experience
