The Finance Manager is a pivotal role in Leading Edge Aviation’s success and is responsible for overseeing strategic and operational financial services across our UK and Spanish sites. The Finance Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the Finance department, ensuring the team are supported to succeed, producing month end financials and analysis, monthly reporting to the CFO and the Board of Directors and working to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial results for Leading Edge Aviation.
Working closely with the CFO, the Finance Manager will proactively enhance the profitability of Leading Edge Aviation and drive effective cost control in all departments by building partnerships with all Managers and stakeholders.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, based at our Oxford Campus. Some home working may be possible.
Role Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting – Prepare & present monthly financial statements for both the UK and Spanish companies, including balance sheet and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Intercompany transactions and reconciliation.
- Prepare quarterly UK VAT returns and assist the external accountant with Spanish VAT returns.
- Financial Analysis –Variance & trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and provide strategic recommendations to the Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
- Asset Management - Fixed Asset & stock management.
- Budget management – develop and manage annual budgets for both companies, in collaboration with the Leadership Team, including monthly reviews of expenditure. Quarterly forecast updates.
- Cash flow management – monitor cash balances and lead the team with best practices for timely cash collection and supplier payments. Regular reporting to the CFO.
- Audit Coordination - Play a key role in internal and external audits
- Assist external accountant with corporation tax submissions for UK and Spain
- Compliance - Enforce regulatory compliance across both companies, ensuring correct financial standards, including tax laws and reporting requirements, are adhered to.
- Internal Controls – maintain & monitor internal control policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial reporting, providing guidance to the Leadership Team when required.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial management.
- Collaborate with the Board to continually improve Leading Edge Aviation’s efficiencies and profitability.
- Manage and develop the small finance team, fostering a collaborative, productive and high-performance culture.
- Take a collaborative approach to working with team managers, ensuring they understand key financial procedures for themselves and their teams, providing advice, support and coaching where needed.
- Assist managers with project accounting, capex requests and Board papers
- Demonstrate and uphold the company’s core values in all actions, decisions, and interactions.

Core Competencies
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified (equivalent experience may be considered)
- Experience in a Finance Manager or senior operational finance role with line management responsibility
- Strong analytical skills
- Detail-focused, proactive, and accountable approach
- Confident operating independently while collaborating with senior leadership
- Commercial mindset with a focus on revenue optimisation and cost control
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Advanced Excel skills, in addition to excellent IT skills including the full Microsoft Suite
- Experience of Xero desirable
- A natural leader, with demonstrable management experience, and experience collaborating with a range of stakeholders
- Motivated by growth and thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive and enthusiastic outlook.
- Demonstrable alignment with the company’s core values in attitude, conduct, and work ethic.
- Experience in Spanish accounting beneficial but not essential
