The Opportunity
As Finance Director at Kyra, you’re stepping into a role that’s both strategic and hands-on. You’ll join our senior leadership team, taking the lead on all things financial and ensuring compliance across multiple markets. This isn’t just about managing numbers—it’s about building a financial backbone that fuels growth, supports big-picture decisions, and makes sure we’re staying on the right side of every regulation.
You’ll be working closely with our CEO, COO and leadership team, optimising financial processes, integrating with our platform, setting up strategic finance initiatives,, and overseeing global tax and compliance. As we scale and drive rapid growth, your insights and leadership will be crucial to keeping Kyra on track.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Financial Strategy & Leadership: Own Kyra’s financial roadmap, including FP&A, and build a strategy that aligns with ambitious growth goals across the UK, US, and beyond.
- Operational Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and readiness for success across all markets.
- Global Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with UK, US, and international regulations, managing risk effectively while navigating diverse regulatory landscapes.
- Supporting Strategic Growth: Lay the financial groundwork for Kyra’s expansion, collaborating with leadership to embed resilient financial structures that support scalable growth.
- Board-Level Reporting & Investor Relations: Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for the board and investors, fostering strong investor relationships, leading fundraising efforts, and driving financial strategy.
- Metrics-Driven Growth: Establish and track KPIs that drive data-driven decisions for sustainable growth and keep the team accountable.
- Team Leadership: Lead a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement, as well as building strong relationships across the business.
Who You Are:Technical Skills:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) with around 7 years of post-qualification experience.
- Extensive experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and FP&A, with a sharp eye for results-driven financial strategy.
- Skilled in financial modelling, pricing strategies, and revenue forecasting to support sustainable growth.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK, US, and global financial regulations, tax compliance, and accounting standards.
- Proven ability to manage details with precision, from maintaining margins and financial controls to refining the sales process for maximum efficiency.
- Hands-on experience in scaling startups, scaleups, or high-growth SMEs, where adaptability and innovation are key to success.
Leadership & Influence:
- A clear and compelling communicator, skilled at turning complex financial insights into actionable advice for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Track record as a Finance Director or senior finance leader in high-growth environments, ideally in media or tech.
- Proven ability to move seamlessly between high-level strategic planning and detailed financial management, bringing both vision and execution.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and collaboration skills, with the ability to inspire teams and influence internal and external partners.
- Experienced in investor relations, adept at balancing intellectual rigour with emotional intelligence to build trust and rapport.
