We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team and provide excellent financial administration support to Price Jones Holdings Ltd, its group entities and other charities associated with Professor Pat Price. 

Professor Price is an academic clinical oncologist specialising in PET based molecular imaging, advanced radiotherapy techniques, translational research in oncology, medical legal issues in cancer, and is currently active in enhancing the uses of radiotherapy in cancer treatment both within the UK, and internationally through her establishing a Global coalition in radiotherapy. She is chair of the charity Radiotherapy UK @radiotherapy_uk and founder of Radiotherapy4Life @RTherapy4Life and the #CatchUpWithCancer campaign.  She also acts as expert witness in clinical negligence, medico-legal cases and is CEO of Price Jones Ltd. 


Full time: 10-15 hours per week  

Package: £24,000 - £27,000 dependent on experience (FTE, will be prorated to number of weekly hours worked) 

Closing date: Wednesday 6th November 

Location: Wilmslow office - this is an office based job and you must live a commutable distance to Wilmslow.


Price Jones Ltd are looking for a Finance Assistant on a part time basis to join our team in Wilmslow. You will be AAT qualified and have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. The job is varied and broad, so you’ll need to be willing to get stuck in and happy to be the first port of call for Finance questions and issues.  You will have the ability to resolve matters independently with limited guidance.  Excellent attention to detail is essential.

Job purpose

Job responsibilities 

The key responsibilities of the role are: 

  • Full control of purchase ledger including processing invoices, payment runs, reconciliation and dealing with queries 
  • Supporting with sales ledger including raising invoices, managing queries and supporting with some credit control 
  • Bank reconciliations 
  • Credit Card reconciliations 
  • Management of expenses 
  • Support with end of month processes 
  • Liaison with the accountants 
  • Support with payroll 
  • General financial support and administration 
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with policies 
  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth financial operations 
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required 

 

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Capabilities 


  •  AAT qualified or equivalent
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good technical skills with an ability to improve processes and functionality 
  • Good organisational skills 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines 
  • Positive and proactive approach to personal development 
  • Works collaboratively with a variety of colleagues and clients 
  • Ability to work independently and with little guidance. 
  • Confident with IT, especially Excel and any financial software packages (E.g. Xero)
