Why Join Truespeed?

At Truespeed, we’re not just building a broadband network, we’re transforming how communities across the South West and East Anglia connect, work and live. We’re proud to be a locally based company that puts customers first, investing in future-proof networks that make a real impact.

About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Fibre Optic Network Splicer to help us bring ultrafast connectivity to even more homes and businesses. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. From fibre installation to testing, troubleshooting and delivering great customer experiences, you’ll play a vital part in shaping our growing network.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Installing optical fibre cable into distribution points, fibre enclosures and patch panels on new and existing networks
  • Splicing and testing external/internal optical fibres to customer premises using Fusion Splicer, OTDR and ILM — taking pride in delivering exceptional quality
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults on live and new networks
  • Updating records, reporting completed works and accurately documenting any changes
  • Taking part in a rota-based 24-hour call-out team for emergency repairs
  • Working independently and as part of a tight-knit team to achieve targets and KPIs
  • Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety at all times
  • Supporting the wider team with any reasonable duties to ensure a great installation experience for our customers

What We’re Looking For

  • A full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months)
  • Valid NRSWA Street Works Operative card
  • Confident reading and updating schematics, duct diagrams and as-built records
  • Strong background in fusion splicing and OTDR testing on fibre networks
  • Comfortable working at heights and within the underground network
  • A great communicator with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Someone who puts safety first — always

It Would Be Great If You Also Have…

  • BT PIA and/or WPD OH35 accreditation (beneficial but not essential)

What You’ll Love About Working With Us

We believe great work deserves great rewards. As part of the Truespeed family, you’ll enjoy:

  • Competitive salary and company van
  • Uniform provided
  • Life insurance (4× annual salary)
  • 24/7 access to an online GP and wellbeing support
  • Competitive pension scheme
  • A generous employee referral bonus
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
