About The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Fibre Optic Network Splicer to help us bring ultrafast connectivity to even more homes and businesses. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. From fibre installation to testing, troubleshooting and delivering great customer experiences, you’ll play a vital part in shaping our growing network.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing optical fibre cable into distribution points, fibre enclosures and patch panels on new and existing networks
- Splicing and testing external/internal optical fibres to customer premises using Fusion Splicer, OTDR and ILM — taking pride in delivering exceptional quality
- Diagnosing and resolving faults on live and new networks
- Updating records, reporting completed works and accurately documenting any changes
- Taking part in a rota-based 24-hour call-out team for emergency repairs
- Working independently and as part of a tight-knit team to achieve targets and KPIs
- Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety at all times
- Supporting the wider team with any reasonable duties to ensure a great installation experience for our customers
- A full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months)
- Valid NRSWA Street Works Operative card
- Confident reading and updating schematics, duct diagrams and as-built records
- Strong background in fusion splicing and OTDR testing on fibre networks
- Comfortable working at heights and within the underground network
- A great communicator with a positive, can-do attitude
- Someone who puts safety first — always
- BT PIA and/or WPD OH35 accreditation (beneficial but not essential)
