Your role at BRE
The Facilities Operations Officer supports the effective day-to-day management of the BRE Garston Estate. The role is responsible for overseeing planned and reactive maintenance activities, managing subcontracted service providers, and ensuring operational excellence across the estate.

Your role at BRE
The Facilities Operations Officer supports the effective day-to-day management of the BRE Garston Estate. The role is responsible for overseeing planned and reactive maintenance activities, managing subcontracted service providers, and ensuring operational excellence across the estate.
Key Responsibilities And Tasks
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors delivering M&E, cleaning, landscaping, waste, and minor works services
- Schedule and manage access for maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to operational areas
- Monitor and audit completion of both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs
- Support the operation of the Estates Helpdesk system, tracking and reporting on reactive tasks and performance trends
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and contractor performance
- Liaise with stakeholders to provide progress updates and manage expectations
- Raise and track purchase orders for contractors and suppliers, ensuring timely approvals and payments
- Support ad-hoc activities such as film production coordination and tenant service requests
- Assist in ensuring contractor compliance with site rules, health and safety, and quality standards
- Deputise for the Senior Operations Manager as required and provide flexibility for occasional out-of-hours support
- Demonstrable experience working within an Estates Operations / Facilities Maintenance role.
- Relevant vocational qualification (BTEC / NVQ) or working towards a qualification in facilities management, construction or building services.
- Desirable - Technical Qualification (Electrical / Mechanical)
- Familiarity with compliance standards relating to building maintenance and safety.
- Professional and polite manner at all times. Highly customer focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with staff and tenants at all levels and to clearly communicate departmental processes, whilst understanding and empathising with other’s requirements and needs to build good relationships.
- Excellent IT skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Good working knowledge of CAFM / Estates Management Software packages.
- A methodical approach; an aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail.
