- Ensure all works are carried out to the highest standards and working environments are maintained in relation to welfare, safety, statutory requirements, functionality, comfort, and appearance
- Manage operational needs and cost efficiency
- Manage budget requirements alongside the General Manager for Site Services
- Management of the in-house maintenance, HVAC & electrical teams
- Plan and manage small projects alongside the Facilities Supervisor (departmental moves; new, planning for change and removal of infrastructure, plant or equipment) at our Southend-on-Sea sites
- Management of external service providers, including liaising with and managing Facility Management for our Bolton site
- Ensure the Facilities Department adhere to all Regulatory requirements supporting the business for audits, non-compliance and corrective/preventative actions, procedures, policies, RAMS, hazard reporting and other relevant documentation
- Manage performance reviews, develop the team with personal development plans including attendance of all mandatory training programs, as well as staff management, holiday and absence approvals
- Maintain a clear understanding of the company’s objectives, goals and forward directional plans
- Work additional hours required to support the requirements of the Facilities Department when required
- IWFM/BIFM Level 4 and above qualification in Facilities Management OR at least 2 years' experience of managing hard/technical services within a Facilities environment
- Experience in leading and managing a diverse team
- HVAC bias is essential, Gas desirable
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety regulations which is pivotal for the business to operate safely, efficiently, and effectively while complying with legislation requirements
- Experience of dealing with a varied customer base and within a customer facing role
- Sound experience of use of CAFM and database systems
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential
- Skills to manage departmental issues as they arise, understanding a priority management system
- Ability to work on their own and as part of a team
- Willing to travel and work unsocial hours as required by the business
