This is a full time, permanent position for 37.5 hours per week.

St Gemma’s Hospice is one of the leading hospices in the UK. The Hospice provides expert palliative and end of life care, in a quality environment, for thousands of local people each year. It’s a prominent and respected charity at the heart of the local community with a large range of specialist services to support patients, their families and friends.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual to work with our busy and successful Estates & Facilities team. You will manage Facilities Department staff consisting of Housekeeping, Hospitality and Catering Teams, in order to provide leadership, support and development; enabling staff and services to function in a professional, effective, efficient and economical manner.

You will be highly organised, efficient and proactive, with a strong level of Microsoft Office skills and an ability to learn and work with internal systems. A keen attention to detail is required as well as a flexible and personable approach to work.

You Will Have

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in operational facilities environment
  • Working knowledge of rota systems and shift patterns
  • Experience of managing and supervising staff
  • Proven experience in budget planning and management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on own and within a pressurised environment

St Gemma’s Hospice is a Leeds-based charity providing expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. We offer care to patients and their carers in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team, and via our day services, which include a Day Hospice and Out-Patient Department.
