Facilities Maintenance Engineer
Join our dynamic team as a Facilities Maintenance Engineer based in Slough, working on a rotating shift pattern. Here, you’ll play a vital role in sustaining the reliability and efficiency of our critical infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations for both our customers and business. Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively maintain, troubleshoot, and optimise facility systems to achieve maximum uptime and performance.
- Conduct routine site inspections, responding swiftly to building and data centre alarms to address potential issues before they escalate.
- Lead and participate in hands-on preventative maintenance, collaborate with vendors, and manage permit to work processes for essential systems (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems).
- Carry out repairs and corrective maintenance, minimising downtime and ensuring service continuity.
- Plan and execute scheduled maintenance activities to boost reliability and extend asset life.
- Keep precise and up-to-date site documentation, including maintenance logs, MOPs, and operational scripts.
- Support incident response, working alongside or independently from senior engineers, and actively contribute to on-site solutions.
- Deliver on work requests and circuit installations with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Engage in facility and infrastructure projects aimed at continuous improvement and innovation.
- Possess ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Previous experience in data centres, critical environments, or large-scale facilities is a plus.
- Deep technical knowledge of UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems; HV switching experience is an advantage.
- Resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable working independently or within a collaborative team.
- Strong communicator, with keen attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
