Events Assistant

Edinburgh Trams

Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Edinburgh
Salary: £12.6 per hour
Contract type: Part time
Do you like working with the public? Do you like working outdoors? Fancy helping out with making an event work efficiently?

We have approximately 20 events planned in Edinburgh that Edinburgh Trams support each year. Event work will mainly be working outside in all Scottish weather conditions. The numbers of people attending events are substantial, so you must enjoy working with crowds. Most of the events will be on a weekend or evening and based at major venue throughout the city, for example, Murrayfield Stadium.

Tasks you will be doing are assisting with crowd control, providing gate line support and checking tickets. You will be providing general customer service and directing customers. There may be manual handling tasks, such as moving barriers.

You will be provided with a list of events that are planned and notified of any new events. We expect you to commit to a minimum of 2 events a year, and will be notified 10 days before the event whether support is needed. You will receive an email sent to the pool of Event Assistants, and work will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. You must be a minimum age of 18 or over.

Salary/Hours

  • You will be offered a Casual Contract of employment.
  • You will usually work a 9 hour duty (8 hours paid/1 hour unpaid break), however, shifts can be up to 12 hours.
  • You will be paid £12.60 per hour.

Benefits

  • You will accrue Holiday entitlement for the hours worked.
  • Free Ridacard, providing free tram and bus travel around the city and surrounding areas.
  • You can become a member of our Pension Scheme, if you meet our eligibility criteria

Training
