Events Activation Manager

Precision Fuel & Hydration

Date: 10 hours ago
City: Christchurch
Contract type: Full time

This role isn't just about turning up and putting up a tent - it's about bringing our brand to life in the real world and making meaningful connections with our customers and athletes. You'll play a lead role in planning and delivering top-notch event experiences that reflect who we are and what we stand for. From major races to grassroot gatherings, you'll help us show up brilliantly, build relationships, and keep growing our presence in endurance sport communities around the world.

We're growing fast, which means things move quickly around here. Our roles will evolve over time, and while the key responsibilities are outlined below, there may be changes as we grow. We're looking for someone who’s up for that kind of pace and flexibility-someone who’s keen to roll up their sleeves and grow with us.

What you’ll do

  • Take the lead on event planning - owning timelines, budgets, resources, and everything in between
  • Establish exactly what we need for each event - then make sure it gets there on time and in one piece, whether that’s product, merch, gear or signage
  • Secure venues, handle permits, and negotiate contracts - keeping everything above board and on-brand
  • Work closely with organisers to lock in event details like site access, stand location and any ground rules
  • Oversee setup, execution and pack-down - solving problems on the fly and keeping things running smoothly
  • Brief, support and manage the event crew, brand ambassadors, contractors and anyone else repping PF&H
  • Show up as the face of the brand - keeping our messaging clear and the standard high at every touchpoint
  • Stay tight with internal teams (ops, wholesale, finance, creative) and external partners (agencies, vendors, venues) to keep everything aligned
  • Be the go-to for timelines, objectives and resourcing across every event
  • Keep a close eye on budgets and look for smart ways to control costs
  • Track key event metrics; attendance, engagement, ROI - and turn them into useful insights
  • Share your findings with the wider team and suggest ways we can make the next event even better
  • Feed into our wider experiential marketing plans - helping shape how we show up in the world

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience within events management - bonus points if that includes international trade shows or expos
  • A background in sport and a genuine passion for the communities we support
  • Brilliant time management - you can juggle priorities without breaking a sweat
  • Seriously organised, with a sharp eye for detail
  • A natural problem-solver who stays cool and decisive when things get hectic
  • Comfortable managing a crew and keeping everyone on track
  • Confident coordinating international logistics and managing budgets
  • Great with people - you build strong relationships with ease, inside and outside the team
  • Happy to travel (often internationally) and work the odd weekend or late night when events call for it

Nice to Have

  • Being a keen athlete or a fan of endurance sports would also be helpful (as you’ll already understand our audience) but not strictly mandatory

What we offer

  • All the PF&H fuel, hydration and merch you’ll ever need!
  • An opportunity to be part of a passionate, innovative, and fast-growing company
  • Work with a team of industry experts in sports science, nutrition, and tech
  • The chance to contribute to the development of a company making a real impact in the world of sports
