Engineering Leader - Manufacturing Systems

Terumo Aortic are currently looking to recruit an Engineering Leader – Manufacturing Systems and be part of our highly experienced engineering team. Working alongside a great team, this is an exciting role within the business as we continue our investment onsite and improve our manufacturing processes.

The main duties of the role are;

  • Be a champion of the MES Solution and manage Change Management activities
  • Developing new manufacturing system business proposals
  • Co-ordination of the maintenance of master data for Manufacturing Systems
  • Manage testing activities for manufacturing systems
  • Coordinate the transfer of new products into manufacturing and ensure that all the appropriate requirements for manufacturing systems are understood and available
  • Analysing data and presenting finding in reports.
  • Working collaboratively with engineers, operations and other internal staff
  • 3rd party management, working with software partners and senior stakeholders
  • Analyse and approve corrective actions proposed to address quality issues within the manufacturing systems
  • Monitor and confirm the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions with respect to the manufacturing systems
  • Analyse how processes affect the overall production and final product and find ways that these systems can be improved and developed to be more effective
  • Supervise assigned engineers within the Manufacturing Systems engineering team, to ensure individual allocated tasks are met within agreed timescales, allocating tasks to team members as appropriate
  • Perform any other duties/ tasks/ projects as required by management
  • Assume other responsibilities from time to time in order to support plant’s strategic plan and personal career plans

The successful candidate will possess;

  • Degree or 5+ years relevant previous experience in a high quality manufacturing environment
  • Experienced in master data maintenance
  • Knowledge and experience of working with ERP and MES applications such as Opcenter, QAD, SAP.
  • Technically astute, with ability to work on complex ERP queries and work on various applications such as Opcenter, QAD, SAP
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong and clear leadership skills
  • Understand stakeholder management at all levels
  • Process Engineering, Business and IT Analytical skills required
  • Strong teamworking skills, with an ability to motivate others and to lead or manage multiple project teams
  • A willingness to accept responsibility and make decisions
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Leadership experience and skills are required for this role
