The Skylight Employment Team is recruiting an Employment Officer- Complex Needs to join the Employment & Training Team. If you have a passion for supporting people with complex needs and specialist knowledge of engaging, assessing, and planning employment interventions then this could be the role for you.

In this role you will support customers facing multiple barriers and help them find suitable employment, volunteering, and training opportunities. You will work as part of a team to deliver the Employment Teams' core activities while working closely with key stakeholders to find suitable solutions for customers needs. The successful candidate will offer advice and guidance to support customers in making positive changes to their lives.

  • How you’ve supported customers facing barriers to overcome any issues and the interventions you have implemented to support them
  • Demonstrable experience of creating quality CV’s, application forms and cover letters and experience of preparing customers for an interview
  • Demonstrable experience of maintaining quality, comprehensive, real-time case management records which monitor customer progression and identify opportunities
  • Demonstrable experience of providing careers advice, and job searching interventions, and give examples of signposting individuals to volunteering and work placement opportunities
  • Evidence of up-to-date knowledge of the employment market, local training providers and benefits information
  • Having a ‘can do’ proactive attitude to all aspects of the role
  • Working to time scales, being organised and able to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrating an ability to communicate with customers from a variety of backgrounds
