Job Description
HALO (Hostile Artillery Locating System) is a state-of-the-art long-range acoustic weapon locating system designed to meet the increasing threat of electronic warfare based targeting and anti-radar weapon systems countering radar-based weapon locating systems.
We are recruiting for an Electronics Analogue Design Engineer to be part of a team supporting our next generation Hostile Artillery Locating System development. Starting at the beginning of the engineering lifecycle you will assist with requirement and architecture definition and maturation, design new PCB level electronics to work alongside COTS modules and work with the wider project team to support integration and qualification

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). What you’ll do as Principal/Lead Electronics Analogue Design Engineer
- Development of hardware solutions with a mix of in-house PCBs and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) modules
- Developing power supply and cabling solutions
- Supporting Systems Engineers develop requirements and architecture
- Supporting the integration of hardware, firmware and software
- Supporting qualification activities
- Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle
- Experience of PCB level design (schematic capture)
- Experience of power supply and cabling design
- DFx knowledge specifically Design for EMC
- Integrating in-house designs with COTS modules (power supplies, single board computers, RF interfaces)
- Integration and verification of hardware systems
- Awareness of Safety, Security and other legislative constraints
- Domain experience in low noise analogue electronics
