Role: Apprentice Electrical Technician
Location: Arbroath, Scotland OR Aylesbury, England
Reports to: Operations Manager

With an Convergix Automation Apprenticeship, you will learn the skills needed to become a fully qualified Electrical Technician and begin your career with within our growing international business. Working as part of a project team, you’ll develop to be responsible for electrical assembly on cutting edge automation and robotic systems for our global customers.
Our four-year programme combines on-the-job training with day-release academic study at a local college or training group, and a wage throughout the apprenticeship, even while you’re studying.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will
- Work as part of a project team with specific duties of electrical assembly and de-bugging on special purpose industrial automation and robotic assembly systems.
- Be able to wiring, assemble and test control panels and machines to detailed electrical schematic diagrams, and fault find, repair and maintain machinery.
- Assist with installation of machinery on customer’s premises in the UK and overseas (when required, from fourth year of apprenticeship onwards)
- Communicate with Project Engineers / Managers regarding any related requirements or changes which require action
- Ensure procedures and working practices to ISO9001:2015 are adhered to and suggest where improvements can be made.
- Promote and ensure good housekeeping practices in and around the facility
- Carry out a safe working practice at all times
- Protect and support the Company’s reputation in public with customers, suppliers and other interested parties
- A minimum of 4 National 5 qualifications, grades A-C or equivalent, including Maths, English and at least one science (ideally physics) or technical subject.
- It is highly preferred that you have achieved a Scottish Higher qualification in Maths and a science or technical subject.
