M&E Contracts Manager - Elec Bias (M&E Installation)

Location: Based at Head Office/Site Based

Reporting to: Senior Contracts Manager (M&E Installation)

Direct Reports: 2-6 staff

Working Relationships: Clients, Clients & Suppliers

About Our Client: Our client, a distinguished building contractor with a storied history and a robust portfolio of services, is seeking a M&E Contracts Manager with a focus on Electrical and Mechanical Installation. This company has been a cornerstone in the building industry, delivering a comprehensive range of services from minor works to multi-million-pound projects, and maintaining London's most prestigious buildings.

Role Summary & Purpose: The M&E Contracts Manager will oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, within budget, and to customer satisfaction. This role involves managing both specialist packages and internal resources to maximize project delivery and meet all Health & Safety and contractual obligations from conception through to completion and final accounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management and support of tender submissions and project surveys.
  • Preplanning and managing the sequencing of project activities.
  • Establishing and controlling site teams, ensuring proper installation quality and quantity.
  • Effective cost control and contract management including documentation, budgeting, and administration.

Essential Skills And Qualifications

  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience in M&E sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen with good estimating skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills with client-facing capabilities.
  • Proven track record in delivering projects up to c£1m.
  • Knowledge of MTC, JTC, NEC contracts, and safety compliance.
