About The Team And The Role

We want to make the shopping experience for our customers as simple, smart and inspiring as possible, whilst hitting commercial goals. As part of the Merchandising team, it's our job to inspire customers and ensure all events follow a smooth customer journey through brilliant shop-keeping. As an Ecommerce Events Executive, you will play a key role in planning, briefing, executing and optimising onsite Events & Campaigns on Ocado.com. You will collaborate with various stakeholders and creative teams to deliver campaigns on time, use merchandising levers to optimise events to drive trade and continuously review and act upon performance data.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of customers and their shopping behaviours of events, using a suite of data and insight sources and tools.
  • Update and manage the top level media execution onsite including the homepage, checkout walk, slot booking and various other pages.
  • Ensure that all Events & Campaigns are up to date and relevant for the customer closely following the Ecommerce sitemap and Customer Marketing Calendar.
  • Use various systems to launch, optimise and update campaigns including media assets and tagging.
  • Reviewing, manipulating & analysing data to report on Ecommerce KPI performance for using available insight tools. Inferring customer behaviour from the data and presenting these insights to key stakeholders on a regular basis along with actionable recommendations to improve performance.
  • Use the merchandising levers available to optimise whilst also supporting in scoping & briefing Insight Teams on additional data required to effectively track customer performance to optimise further.
  • Build strong working relationships amongst peers across Customer & Commercial including Buying, Trade Marketing, Creative, Supplier Services, Pricing & Promotions, Product & Propositions, Merchandising and SFM to ensure we are working towards the right priorities and aligned outcomes.
  • Keeping up to date on event analysis within the market, drawing on inspiration from competitors or other ecommerce sites to suggest optimisation plans that drives event growth within Ocado.

Who You Are

  • You’ll have excellent attention to detail skills, with an eye for detail to be able to provide accurate and high quality work.
  • Competent and confident working on internal systems, spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • PC literate, including Excel, as well as a quick learner, as the role will require the use of a number of different internal systems
  • A problem solver who is organised and able to balance multiple priorities at once
  • Customer focused as the more you can understand our customers’ needs, the easier and more fulfilling this job will be
  • Results orientated – Proactive and focused on delivery of successful outcomes for the team and ORL. Bases decisions on solid rationale supported by data and insights, takes ownership of issues and decisions.
