About the role:

We're hiring an experienced DX Engineer with a strong technical writing background to join our Docs team.

You will work with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, DevOps, and product managers, to ensure that our development tools, workflows, and documentation are of the highest quality.

What you will do:

• Develop and update technical documentation, focusing on Vercel's tools, libraries, and APIs
• Act as customer zero, ensuring our documentation meets the reader's needs and enhances their experience using our products
• Review and refine documentation and code examples for clarity and adherence to our style guide
• Proactively maintain and improve the documentation sites
• Manage your projects in coordination with the team, adhering to deadlines and contributing to our documentation strategy
• Embrace new products and processes, sharing knowledge and driving documentation quality and innovation
• Report to our Director of Docs
  
  

About you:

• You bring at least 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer, Developer Experience Engineer, or related role, with a proven track record of creating impactful documentation
• You know frontend tools such as TypeScript, Next.js, and Vercel
• You are proficient in Markdown and Git workflows, enabling you to create efficient and interactive documentation
• You excel in communication and collaboration, thriving in a team environment and contributing to a positive workplace
• You quickly adapt to new domains, learning and articulating complex concepts into clear, comprehensive content
• You focus on putting the reader first, ensuring documentation is accessible and engaging
• You understand and apply various content types effectively in your technical writing

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $120,000 -$180,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
