Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic person to join our Specialist Community Mental Health Team as a band 6 Duty Co-ordinator.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the duty function of the team for the planning and implementation of evidence based care to a defined group of service users and their carers within a specific catchment. They will also provide professional advice and support to other agencies and members of the multidisciplinary team, to act as a role model and resource for junior/less experienced staff.

Main duties of the job

The team operates a daily duty service made up of the duty co-ordinator and other colleagues from the wider MDT. The primary function is to respond to crisis and offer support to those on the team caseload. As the duty co-ordinator you will oversee the daily function of the duty service including effective risk management and care. You will be responsible for the planning of duty cover including the duty rota. You will have the support and supervision of your Team Lead, and as a Band 6 clinician, you will be expected to act as a supervisor and resource for junior or less experienced staff.

You will be able to draw on the interventions and expertise provided by your MDT colleagues, such as Support Workers, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Employment Specialists, Family Therapists and Medical Colleagues.
