An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the South West Nursing Directorate to support the Leadership and Business Management Team for a permanent contract.
We are currently seeking a Band 4 Directorate Administrator with excellent administrative, communication and organisational skills, to work as part of a dynamic team to deliver an effective service to support managers and staff across the Nursing Directorate.
The post holder will provide and coordinate administrative and secretarial services including for example: the preparation of agendas and minutes and taking appropriate follow-up action as required; supporting the team with the management of projects; gathering information and undertaking enquires as and when is necessary for the team; acting as the first point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.
Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.
NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher. - Support the management of the mailboxes.
- Plan and co-ordinate diaries and meetings and all associated activities including distributing papers, booking rooms.
- Prepare agendas, take minutes, track and follow up on actions and distribute meeting papers.
- Provide and receive complex information which may contain contentious and sensitive information.
- Communicate and engage with external and internal stakeholders, which may require negotiation skills and understanding the needs/requirements of other organisations, senior professionals and individuals.
- Assist with the induction and orientation of new employees and attend to the needs of existing staff (ie office moves, equipment and IT needs).
- Process payment of invoices and manage purchase orders.
- Contribute to the team atmosphere and collaborative culture and relieve or support other team members as appropriate.
- Liaise with administrative staff on standards and processes.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of NHS systems, processes and issues in order to be able to handle enquiries effectively.
- Produce documents, reports and correspondence accurately as directed and in a timely manner.
- Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
