Job Description

The role will involve working closely with our Front Line Support Team, 2nd Line Team Leader and fellow 2nd Line Developers to provide high quality programming and analytical skills needed to enhance and support the systems used by the multiple warehouses at NEXT.

There are flexible working options available, including hybrid solutions.

Responsibilities

You will be heavily involved in the support and enhancement of new and existing systems

using a wide range of technologies and provide analytical and programming skills across a range of platforms, translating business requirements into code.

You’ll provide fault-finding expertise, and follow issues to their resolution, developing, testing and implementing code.

Involvement in the mentoring and development of Developers within the team whilst communicating effectively at all levels; within the team, with business users, and other Systems departments and provide clear and concise documentation for a variety of audiences.

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent capabilities with Microsoft technologies including C# and .NET
  • Excellent capabilities with T-SQL and SQL Server 2012 onwards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor responses dependent on the audience.
  • Ability to work under your own initiative with excellent problem-solving skills, to tight and often changing deadlines and priorities, but equally happy to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle day-to-day support queries whilst continuously striving to improve our existing applications.
  • The successful candidate needs to be proactive, self-motivated and hard-working

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with front end web development including MVC, Angular and Blazor
  • Experience working with IIS 8.0 onwards
  • Experience working with Windows Servers 2008 onwards
  • Experience with applications hosted in Azure.
  • Experience with Azure services including AKS, Cosmos DB, Service Bus and Application Insights
  • An understanding/exposure to back-end Mainframe systems and calls via IBM Websphere MQ, CICSWEB and Z/os.
  • Experience using Azure Git Repos and pipelines.
  • Experience supporting WMS systems.
  • Applied knowledge of agile ceremonies and methodologies.
  • Experience using Dynatrace.
