MANUAL

Date: 2 weeks ago
City: London
Contract type: Full time
MANUAL is looking for a Graphic Designer to lead the creation of high-impact, performance-driven design across paid social and digital channels.

This role is for a designer who understands that in paid media, every pixel has a job to do. Someone who can combine strong conceptual thinking with exceptional craft to create work that stops the scroll, communicates clearly, and drives action, all while building long-term trust in a regulated healthcare brand.

You’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering social-first creative, primarily static but with motion and art direction oversight, across paid social. Working closely with Growth, Copy and Creative Production, you’ll turn performance insights into bold, testable creative ideas that are designed to be iterated, learned from and scaled.

What You'll Do

  • Paid Social Creative Leadership - Lead creative thinking and execution for paid social and digital channels, delivering scroll-stopping static and motion-led design across multiple product categories.
  • Concept & Performance Thinking - Develop strong, insight-led creative concepts that balance brand and performance, translating growth objectives into clear, compelling visual ideas.
  • End-to-End Ownership - Own paid creative projects from brief through to delivery, iteration and optimisation.
  • Design Craft - Maintain an outstanding level of design craft and attention to detail across all outputs, ensuring assets are on-brand, platform-native and performance-optimised.
  • Art Direction - Lead art direction for still and motion content — from concepting and storyboarding through to shoot-day direction (in collaboration with the Creative Producer) and post-production feedback.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Growth, Marketing & Copywriters to turn insights, learnings and briefs into high-performing creative.
  • Testing & Iteration - Support creative testing roadmaps by producing multiple variations, formats and iterations to enable rapid learning and optimisation across paid channels.
  • Ways of Working - Build strong internal relationships and contribute to improving creative processes, velocity and collaboration across teams.

Who You Are

  • Experience - 3+ years of experience as a Graphic Designer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating paid social, performance or digital-first design.
  • Design Tools - Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Experience with After Effects or Premiere Pro is a bonus.
  • Paid & Social Understanding - Strong understanding of how creative performs across paid platforms, including formats, placements and best practices.
  • Art Direction & Visual Judgment - Confident art-directing photography and video from a design perspective, with a strong eye for composition, framing and storytelling.
  • Typography & Layout - Excellent typography skills and a deep understanding of hierarchy, clarity and visual communication.
  • Performance Mindset - Comfortable designing for testing and iteration - understands that performance creative evolves through data, feedback and learning.
  • Collaboration & Communication - Clear, confident communicator who can present ideas, give and receive feedback, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Organisation & Pace - Able to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment without compromising on quality.
  • UX Awareness - Basic understanding of UX principles and how design choices impact user behaviour and conversion.
