Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacy professional to join our team as Deputy Service Lead – Aseptics and Radiopharmacy. This is a key leadership role supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant Aseptic and Radiopharmacy services across the Trust.
You will work closely with the Associate Director of Pharmacy – Cancer Services and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the effective operation, development, and governance of the Aseptic and Radiopharmacy units.

- Strong knowledge of GMP, QA, QC, and quality risk management.
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
- Management qualification
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance.
- Experience in commercial aseptic services or Radiopharmacy licensing.

Main duties of the job
- Deputise for the Accountable Pharmacist and Lead Aseptic Services Pharmacist, assuming full managerial responsibility in their absence.
- Act as an Authorised Pharmacist/Product Approver for cytotoxics, monoclonal antibodies, parenteral nutrition, and radiopharmaceuticals.
- Lead on quality assurance (QA), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and quality control (QC) processes.
- Support the development and implementation of training and revalidation programmes for aseptic staff.
- Contribute to service development, commercial opportunities, and strategic planning.
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with MHRA, ARSAC, and Trust standards.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biological Science degree or equivalent or NVQ3 and BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent.
- Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council as a practising Pharmacist or Technician or membership of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Biology or equivalent
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Management qualification (e.g. level 5 or 6 qualification in management or MBA)
- Aseptic services further qualification or evidence of aseptic training
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance or equivalent experience.
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of working in an aseptics unit, radiopharmacy or production unit.
- Significant experience of management
- Knowledge and experience of GMP, QA, QC and quality risk management
- Experience of audit.
- Experience of working in a commercial licensed unit.
