Ewan House Children's Home are recruiting for a Deputy Manager. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Deputy Manager to become an integral part of our support team. In this role, you will support and care for our young people and be responsible for a small staff team.

Situated in a rural area of the vibrant city of Southampton, Ewan House is a children's home for up to 5 young people with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.

All candidates must have a Full UK driving licence.

Role

A Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People is essential for this role and you should be willing to study towards the Level 5 Diploma. The ideal candidate will have experience of team leadership and the following characteristics to be successful in this role:

  • Resilience We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
  • Communication Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
  • Organisation As well as supervising the staff team, you’ll need to be confident and organised in updating care plans and reporting information that will be relevant to the care of our young people.
  • Caring Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
  • Attentive No young person is the same so being attentive to understand them and identify areas where we can support is important.
