Step Into the Spotlight: Deputy General Manager

Lead The Show Where Every Shift Is Showtime

The red and white stripes. The buzz of Americana. The energy of clinking cocktail shakers and the roar of a crowd. Since 1965, TGI Fridays has been more than a restaurant — it’s been a stage for unforgettable experiences.

Before flair became famous — we created it.

Before bartenders were performers — we trained them.

Before snacks became legends — we served up the original Loaded Potato Skins.

This isn’t just a job. It’s an act of passion, a rhythm of service, and a full-throttle celebration of food, people, and high-impact hospitality. We don’t just serve — we create moments. Every shift, every plate, every Friday.

Your Role: Director of the Floor

As a Deputy General Manager at Fridays, you’re not behind the scenes — you’re front and centre. You lead with energy, direct the performance of your team, and set the pace for a memorable guest experience. You’re a motivator, a mentor, and a strategist. You bring vision, flair, and confidence — and in return, you gain the foundation to run your own Fridays location in the near future.

Key Scenes in Your Script

  • Lead the Performance: Inspire and energise your team through Fridays’ core values — Pride, Passion, Personality, and Protection.
  • Own the Production: Oversee operations, including people management, guest satisfaction, profitability, and health & safety.
  • Deliver the Atmosphere: Maintain standards, drive excellence, and keep the vibe electric — every detail matters.
  • Build Connections: Create loyalty with both your team and your guests — relationships are the heartbeat of success.
  • Champion the Brand: Live and breathe the Fridays culture. Your leadership sets the tone and builds the legacy.
  • Step into the Future: This role is the launchpad to your own General Manager opportunity.

About You

  • You bring leadership experience from hospitality or another fast-paced, guest-facing business.
  • You love food, drink, and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
  • You thrive under pressure and keep the energy high with a great sense of humour.
  • You’re passionate about developing people and growing a team.
  • You’re ready to step into a long-term leadership role, not just a temporary gig.
  • Availability for evenings and weekends is essential — it’s when the real show begins.

Your Backstage Perks

  • Guaranteed 48-hour contract
  • Annual performance-based incentive programme
  • Leadership training via the Aspire Development Pathway and national apprenticeship schemes
  • Invitations to attend exclusive Leadership Conferences
  • 50% discount on food for you and up to five guests
  • Optional private medical insurance
  • Wagestream access – view and manage your pay in real time
  • Support through Hospitality Action for mental health and wellbeing
  • Recognition schemes, long service awards, and incentive rewards
  • Flexible working arrangements and pension scheme participation
  • A culture built on celebration, creativity, and connection
