Delivery Manager

Vertu Motors plc

Date: 20 hours ago
City: Gateshead
Contract type: Full time
At Vertu Motors, we’re one of the UK’s largest automotive retailers, representing some of the world’s leading car manufacturers. Our commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences extends beyond the forecourt — we’re transforming our internal systems and processes to support our teams with cutting-edge technology.

Vertu Technology is the home of all our tech teams, including Development, Service Operations, Cyber Security, Data, and Dealer Management Systems. We work in cross-functional product teams who own what they build, and we value collaboration, curiosity and continuous learning. We believe in delivering incremental value quickly, with a strong focus on user needs and high-quality engineering. You'll be joining a team that cares about each other, our products, and how we work.

Our Culture

We’re looking for someone who will thrive in our values-driven culture at Vertu Technology. These six principles define how we work together and deliver impact:

  • ONE VERTU: You’re a collaborator who works effectively with others to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • ONE MEASURE: You seek to deeply understand the purpose and desired outcomes of your work.
  • ONE PATH: You value continuous self-improvement and are results driven.
  • ONE FOCUS: You quickly identify key priorities and give them your full attention.
  • ONE APPROACH: You’re comfortable working autonomously within a structured framework and are flexible in following The Vertu Way.
  • ONE CULTURE: You bring high energy, embrace challenges, possess a coachable mindset, and thrive across all phases of the software development lifecycle.

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Delivery Manager to join our Development team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of digital products and internal applications across product teams. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders — from those acting as product owners to subject matter experts — helping them bring well-defined problems and opportunities to the team in a consistent way, align priorities, and feed them into the development process so that teams can focus on solving problems and delivering value.

You’ll guide these stakeholders in adopting agile product management practices, building their capability to shape backlogs, refine work effectively, and plan at the right level. At the same time, you’ll coach and support development teams to deliver value in a collaborative, people-first environment — enabling delivery through strong practices, servant leadership, and a focus on outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate delivery activities across product teams.
  • Partner with product stakeholders, SMEs, and those acting in a product owner capacity to establish consistent ways of working (e.g. user stories, refinement sessions, and other Scrum/Kanban events and artefacts) that bring clarity to the development team.
  • Mentor and coach stakeholders in agile product management practices (e.g. clear problem definition, prioritisation, MVP’s, and short feedback loops etc.).
  • Facilitate alignment of priorities across multiple products and stakeholder groups serving the same team.
  • Remove delivery blockers, optimise team performance, and champion continuous improvement.
  • Coach teams in agile ways of working, focusing on collaboration, shared ownership, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure clear communication between development teams, and stakeholders.
  • Track and report on progress, timelines, and risks across product streams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and delivery excellence.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, or similar role in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and their practical application in multi-stakeholder environments and differing contexts.
  • Experience coaching both technical teams and business stakeholders in agile practices and delivery planning.
  • Experience helping non-technical stakeholders build product ownership capability and bring clarity to delivery.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a people-first approach to achieving delivery outcomes.
  • A proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at balancing delivery focus with fostering collaboration, alignment, and shared ownership.

Why Join Vertu Motors?

  • Be part of an innovative, supportive, and forward-thinking technology department.
  • Work on meaningful projects that improve the daily operations of thousands of employees.
  • Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience plus excellent benefits package.

If your application is successful, we will need to complete employment checks prior to you starting with us. Your role will include us verifying your recent employment, credit history and a criminal record check.
