As a Datacenter Manager you will be responsible for the continuous operation of the Datacenter and the successful implementation of customer projects. You will also be accountable for the effective management of resources and for leading and developing a team Datacentre engineers and technicians.

As a Datacenter Manager you will be responsible for the continuous operation of the Datacenter and the successful implementation of customer projects. You will also be accountable for the effective management of resources and for leading and developing a team Datacentre engineers and technicians.
Responsibilities
Team Management
- Recruits, retains, develops, coaches, and leads staff responsible for the stability and efficiency of the Datacenters.
- Responsible for the 24x7 operational oversite and direction to both Technical and Engineering teams.
- Accountable for successful implementation of customer projects lead by the project manager, teams and/or local Datacentre teams.
- Effectively leads culturally diverse teams with professional and/or technical backgrounds.
- Ensures the continuous (24/7) technical operation of the Datacenter and other support functions required for day-to-day performance and efficiency of operations.
- Leads Datacentre technical staff responsible for building customer cages, suites, installing and maintaining cross connects structured cabling, customer hardware, and shipping and receiving.
- Collaborates closely with vendors and other entities, as necessary, to provide customers with timely world class Equinix platform services and support.
- Leads Datacenter Engineering staff responsible for customer power installations, load management, operation, and maintenance of all MEP systems.
- Maintain 99.9999% + site reliability (24/7).
- Accountable for financial activities such as detailed bottoms up budget generation and ongoing forecasts.
- Responsible for purchase decisions, and their organization’s headcount, capital, and expense management.
- Manages to key operations performance metrics and evolves methods to meet or exceed SLAs and contracts to successfully achieve compliance with statutory regulatory environment.
- Leads continuous process improvement in quality and efficiency of MEP equipment maintenance, customer reporting and audits.
- Leads execution of globally defined policies, procedures, and tools in a regulatory driven environment.
- Accountable and responsible for adherence to local health & safety, and environmental legislation.
- Responsible for variances and non-conformances treatment (variances raised during internal/external audits, inspections) and evolution of Global Certification.
- Extensive engineering experience with facilities maintenance in the Datacenter industry.
- Skilled leader with established track record of hiring, encouraging/mentoring high performance operational teams.
- Fosters an environment of cross collaboration with an openness to growth and frequent changes.
- Knowledge of global compliance and certifications that may apply.
- Understands how to assess customer needs through direct communication, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Expert negotiating and contract knowledge, relationship building with service and material suppliers to ensure that Datacenter infrastructure is accurately maintained
- Strong cross functional knowledge base of Datacenter build design and principles to provide detailed input to internal/external construction teams.
- Uses logic and reasoning to investigate technical issues and instructs supervisors on resolving issues.
- Demonstrates flexibility with the ability to escalate and shift targets to meet targeted dates
- High level understanding of CAPEX and OPEX budgets, ability to plan accurately and ensure teams adhere to the agreed variance.
