Key Responsibilities
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customers, providing assistance, clear information, and travel updates on bus schedules, delays, and changes.
- Disruption Management: Keep customers informed in real-time about service changes, delays, or cancellations.
- Customer Information Desk: Offer advice, resolve customer inquiries, and handle complaints professionally.
- Support for Additional Needs: Assist customers with disabilities or mobility challenges, ensuring they receive the help they need.
- Tech-Savvy: Use tablets and digital tools to provide customers with accurate, up-to-date information on travel options.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations and a positive customer experience.
- A passion for providing excellent customer service and support.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to relay clear information during disruptions.
- Friendly, approachable, and empathetic.
- Ability to think quickly and solve problems.
- Comfortable with technology and using devices to access travel data.
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Previous customer service experience (preferably in transport).
- Familiarity with Wakefield and local travel routes.
- Experience assisting customers with disabilities.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to train).
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk around the station regularly.
- Flexible availability for shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Professional appearance, as you’ll be a key representative of Arriva UK Bus.
