What You Will Enjoy Doing
- This is an exciting opportunity for somebody to join the Central Engineering Services team to carry out planned & defect maintenance on a wide range of systems including fault diagnosis and repairs
- In this role, you will be supporting a wide range of our customers across a variety of industries from Healthcare to Pharmaceutical, Research, Manufacturing and Food
- You will act as an ambassador for BOC on our customer sites as part of a diverse area team of Operations Technicians covering Scotland
- You will have the autonomy & flexibility to manage scheduled activities in your own assigned area to meet customer and business needs working alongside our Project Engineers and Co-ordination teams supporting both the installation and commission of new systems
- Once trained and proficient you will have the opportunity to monitor, supervise and guide contractors, apprentices, and trainees
- Furthermore, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing parts, equipment, and workshop materials
- You will have the chance to participate in site and departmental activities to make a real difference, such as developing best practices, problem solving and improvement initiatives
- And lastly, we will make sure you are provided with what you need in order to do this role, this includes a fully kitted out vehicle as a mobile workshop, together with the professional uniform and digital devices
- Ideally you hold a vocational qualification in one of the engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical or instrument) or equivalent however, we will provide the required industry specific training for the role
- You have a flair for diversity, encouraging an open exchange of ideas, to foster effective teamwork ensuring that we work inclusively and collaboratively across the organisation
- Whilst training will be provided on BOC specific equipment you have an inquisitive mind and willingness to learn new skills & processes whilst also sharing your knowledge and experience
- In addition, you can build both internal and external customer relationships to recognise and exceed customer needs
- You are self-motivated with the energy and drive to interact as part of this customer facing role
- Furthermore, you must have a high level of personal integrity to ensure continued operational compliance for our customers
