Are you a proactive and customer-focused individual with a knack for numbers? We are looking for an Accounts Assistant - Credit Control to join our team in Worksop, reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader.

About The Role

As an Accounts Assistant - Credit Control, your primary objective will be to minimize G4S outstanding debt, identify and escalate risks, and ensure timely resolution of issues. You'll be a vital part of the team, working collaboratively with various internal managers and employees throughout the UK region, as well as external customers and auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chasing customer payments in line with G4S payment terms to minimize bad debt.
  • Handling all tier 2 interactions within Credit Control, ensuring all requests are completed and resolved successfully within agreed service levels.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement for FSSC service delivery.
  • Working towards daily outbound phone targets set by the team leader.
  • Achieving individual and Business Unit Overdue Debt reduction targets and Cash Collection goals.
  • Working on customer disputes to help minimize outstanding G4S debt and escalating issues to appropriate Business owners.
  • Creating and categorizing outbound service requests.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

  • Experienced in using MS Excel & MS Word.
  • Numerate and literate.
  • Experience of working with customers to resolve queries and issues.
  • Experience of working in a busy Customer Service/Finance environment.
  • Experience of managing multiple customer accounts to effectively minimize outstanding debt.
  • Experience of a target-driven environment with a high volume of phone-based activity.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate G4S policy when dealing with outstanding debt recovery.
  • A team player, willing to help and support colleagues.
  • Possesses the drive to deliver high-quality service to help promote the Financial Shared Service Centre.
  • Ability to problem-solve issues such as disputes relating to customer invoices.
  • Target-driven and self-motivated to achieve G4S collection targets.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Adaptable and open to change.

  • Experience of using Oracle/Exchequer/Navision.
