Kennedys is currently seeking a Costs Draftsperson to join their Costs team at the Sheffield office. This role involves working with a dynamic team in a supportive and professional environment.

Team


Kennedys' Sheffield Liability Team collaborates with insurers, self-insured corporates, and local authorities to handle a diverse range of claims. Their expertise spans from simple to complex injury cases, property damage, and various types of quantum loss claims. The team also provides comprehensive advice on motor liability matters, including road traffic incidents, disease-related issues, contract and indemnity disputes, and product liability across all sectors.

Their extensive experience ensures that clients receive tailored solutions and expert guidance, whether dealing with straightforward claims or navigating intricate legal challenges. The team's commitment to excellence and client-focused approach makes them a trusted partner in managing liability matters effectively and efficiently.

Clients


  • The team acts for a wide variety of clients ranging from large insurers to local authorities and large corporate self-insured.


Cases


  • The team acts for the liability and insurance division providing costs advice on negotiating and recovery of personal injury and general costs insurance matters.


Required Experience


  • 3+ years' experience in costs work gained in a claimant or defendant environment
  • Experience of drafting Points of Dispute and Replies
  • Experience of drafting and negotiating Precedent H budgets
  • Experience of drafting electronic bills of costs and using Costsmaster software
  • A good attention to detail and the ability to deal with a varied caseload
  • Legal experience gained within either a claimant or defendant environment
  • Previous client contact
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
