Controls and Automation Engineer Position Overview

My client based in Haywards Heath are looking for an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer to work alongside the engineering team on existing and new products in the filling and packaging industry. The applicant will be required to work on full life cycle of projects but with particular focus on customer and aftersales technical support.

Responsibilities Include

• Assist customers and service engineers with technical queries via email, telephone and remote access.
• Travel to customer sites UK and occasionally worldwide (on average no more than once or twice per year) for breakdowns, software modifications and customer training.
• Create electrical BOMs using Microsoft Navision.
• Design electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Design new PLC and HMI software and modify existing software.
• Commissioning and testing machines in the factory in preparation for FATs.
• Write operation and maintenance manuals.
  
  

Controls and Automation Engineer Position Requirements

• Electrical and software design experience.
• AutoCAD experience (ideally AutoCAD Electrical)
• PLC and HMI writing experience in any of the following: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or Omron.
• Strong technical document writing skills using Microsoft Office products.
• Experience in working on site and troubleshooting problems.
• Eligible to work in the UK and travel worldwide.
• Full UK driving licence or equivalent.
• Experience with motion control (Siemens S110/S120, Omron G5 servos) is desirable
• Microsoft Navision experience is desirable
  
  

Controls and Automation Engineer Position Remuneration

• £50,000- £60,000 DOE
• 35 hours per week (flexibility will be expected in order to meet deadlines)
• 8% company pension contribution.
