Control Systems Engineer
Location: Leatherhead, UK

About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Control Systems Engineer with strong LNG or gas processing experience to support a major FEED-stage project with a leading energy operator. This role sits within the client’s engineering team and will focus on early-phase design and automation systems development.
Candidates must have previous experience supporting Aramco projects and be well-versed in greenfield onshore developments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Contribute to the development of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) deliverables including P&IDs, Instrument Lists, Specifications, and Data Sheets
- Support the design of process control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA) and automation solutions
- Lead instrumentation specification and interface definition across disciplines
- Work with Electrical and Instrument interfaces and related system integration
- Support the development of Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS)
- Apply working knowledge of IEC 61508 & IEC 61511 standards
- Support the preparation of budgetary requisitions and perform technical bid evaluations
- Prepare instrumentation requirements for custody metering systems and industry standards
- Develop early-phase project deliverables (Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED)
- Generate I/O lists, control system layouts, and related documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering disciplines during study and design phases
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Control Systems, or equivalent)
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in oil & gas, energy, or industrial projects
- Extensive experience in gas processing or LNG projects
- Proven track record working on Aramco projects is essential
- Strong background in greenfield onshore project environments
- Experience delivering Concept, Pre-FEED, and FEED phases
- Proficient in developing instrumentation specs and automation deliverables
- Familiarity with safety systems and functional safety standards (IEC 61508 / 61511)
- Good knowledge of industry standards for custody metering and control interfaces
- Strong coordination and communication skills in a multi-discipline project team
