The role
Reporting to the IT Senior Category Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of IT programmes and projects through thoughtful commercial management and contract administration. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with our internal policies and frameworks, including the Procurement Manual, Commercial Manual, and LCP Governance Framework Manual.
In this collaborative role, you will act as a trusted commercial advisor to IT programme and project leaders, nurturing strong supplier relationships and guiding them through effective contractual delivery. Your contribution will help drive positive outcomes across a diverse portfolio of initiatives.
You’ll also support the wider goals of the IT and Procurement teams by contributing to key performance indicators such as total cost of ownership savings, value engineering, and improvements in safety and sustainability.

The role

You will
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support the successful delivery of IT programmes and projects.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement colleagues to shape sourcing strategies, share best practices, and ensure alignment with internal policies and governance frameworks.
- Support commercial delivery by managing contracts, supplier performance, and financial controls—ensuring value for money and positive project outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying cost-saving opportunities and enhancing procurement and commercial processes.
- Champion a safe, inclusive, and high-performing culture, promoting compliance, sustainability, and shared success across teams.
- Managing a portfolio of 3rd party related spend in excess of £10m PA, individual contract values of £2m and contracts of high risk to stakeholder delivery
- Experienced in the acquisition of supplier solutions through competitive tender, ideally in an industry subject to EU or UK Contract Regulations
- Conduct sourcing events (if required) in compliance with UK Procurement Regulation (PA23), procuring at lowest cost of ownership and in accordance with the principle of efficiency and best value. This includes covering all commercial, Security, business and legal project risks in contracts and negotiating terms and conditions within own area of responsibility to ensure ongoing value for money throughout the lifetime of the contract.
- Commercially astute with strong understanding of procurement strategy, contract law, and financial implications across complex projects.
- Technically proficient, with experience drafting and interpreting contracts, managing supplier performance, and using tools like Oracle, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Professionally qualified (degree or equivalent), with desirable certifications such as IACCM
- Strong communicator and influencer, confident in negotiation, conflict resolution, and building relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Resilient and adaptable, with excellent planning skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to lead or step in for management when needed.
