Job Purpose
A UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) Connectivity Network Engineer is a key role in the operation and maintenance of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Job Purpose
A UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) Connectivity Network Engineer is a key role in the operation and maintenance of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Role And Responsibilities
- Determine, and review requirements across many areas including, operational, functional, environmental, Human Machine Interface, Safety and Security.
- Define computer system and network design requirements for the payload systems deployed by AALTO.
- Develop gateway station designs for AALTO connectivity solutions.
- Oversee the development of AALTO connectivity solutions from a network and security perspective.
- Create designs, test plans and reports for all payload network systems.
- Test, produce procedures for operation and deployment of the connectivity solutions
- Knowledge of the design, delivery and implementation of networks which include mesh networking and high availability.
- Knowledge and understanding of technologies relevant to HAPS networking.
- Demonstrable experience in complex network systems with considerable packet loss.
- Experience with SATCOM, LTE or other back haul communication systems.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and tools, such as Agile, Scrum, Git.
- Experience with cybersecurity, IP/switching and upper layer protocols and troubleshooting of them.
- Has already designed or deployed a complex mesh network which included HA mechanisms.
- Has regularly created design, development, test and operations documentation for the network systems they have worked on.
