About The Role
Our Finance team works with every element of our business, building strong relationships with both internal and external business partners. They focus on implementing best practice and provide meaningful management information which inform business strategy decisions.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a very fast paced tech company which is private equity backed. Working closely with our Financial Controller, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment.

What You Will Be Doing
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Assisting Financial Controller in the preparation of monthly management accounts and management reports
- Monthly Balance Sheet and P&L reconciliations
- Preparing Ad Hoc Finance reports for various areas of the business
- Completion of Statutory Government returns - UK and US
- Mentoring more junior members of the team
- Liaising with external auditors and preparing supporting documentation
- enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Assisting with tax compliance and preparation of supporting schedules for tax returns
- Manage reseller calculations and accounting for reseller income
- Project based work, including working with stakeholders across the business to research and deliver answers to finance-based queries.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A proven track record: You will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a busy finance or accounting function, and be qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification).
- Accounting expertise: You will be capable and experienced in completing full Financial or Management Accounts
- Communications: You will have the confidence and skill to facilitate broad-ranging conversations with people across the business and with external customers (face to face, telephone and digital communications)
- Adaptability: You will work with a high degree of accuracy and effectively plan to ensure that tasks are actioned and followed up to ensure completion
- Critical thinking: You will have an analytical mindset and enjoy working with numbers.
- Commercial acumen: You will be interested in understanding the business and be commercially aware, with knowledge of sales forecasting, commission schemes and revenue recognition policies.
- Building relationships: You will be able to build relationships with the wider Learning Pool team and work together to achieve the team and company goals
- A focus on continuous improvement: You will look for opportunities to keep improving our products, processes and service to make sure that our offering remains the best in the market
- Positive, solutions focused outlook: You will think "What can we do to make this happen?" rather than "I don't know how this would work"
- Proficiency with business tools: You will be comfortable with using appropriate technology and systems, with a willingness to increase capability in the relevant systems that we use (e.g. Google suite, Excel, Netsuite, CRM tools).
- Experience with Netsuite and Salesforce
- Experience in US compliance and Tax filings
