The role of Commercial Manager is to lead development and execution of commercial strategy of assigned products and/or markets.

What You Will Do

  • Identifying and analyzing organization's strengths and weaknesses, and responding to opportunities in sales environment.
  • Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of staff engaged in promoting and selling a product; overseeing the resolution of customer complaints.
  • Developing and managing sales programs in alignment with long and short-term sales strategies; establishing training programs for sales team.
  • Managing and directing a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals; determining discount rates.

  • Extensive Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Extensive Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.
  • Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

Top Candidate Will Also Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Broad knowledge of Caterpillar with preferred experience in Sales and Aftermarket
  • Strong analytical and communication skills as well as personal computer expertise
  • Demonstrate initiative, leadership, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Proven track record of demonstrating courage and emotional intelligence, including a high level of responsibility, initiative and stress tolerance

Job Title: Commercial Manager

Salary: £84,500-£100,000 depending on experience

Location: Solihull, UK- this position requires working onsite five days a week.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5

Travel: 40% split between domestic and international
