The role

We’re looking for a commercially astute and talented commercial litigator to join our growing Litigation, Regulatory & Compliance team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate or Principal Associate (4+ PQE) to work alongside Andrew Whalley and our nationally recognised team on complex, high-value commercial disputes.

With a loyal and expanding client base that includes FTSE-listed companies, global household names, and innovative start-ups, this role offers the chance to work on a wide range of contentious matters and play a key role in the team’s continued success.

We’d love to hear from you if you have a strong grounding in commercial litigation, ideally with experience in managing complex disputes. Experience in technology or cross-border litigation is a plus but not essential.

You will need to be a confident communicator who enjoys client contact and is comfortable leading on matters. Ours is a collaborative environment and you will thrive here if you’re keen to contribute to business development and mentoring junior colleagues.

The team

Shoosmiths is investing heavily in its litigation practice, with a clear 2030 vision to be a pre-eminent firm for contentious work.

Our LRC team advises, and acts for, business clients on all aspects of commercial dispute resolution, whether by court proceedings, arbitration or some form of alternative dispute resolution. With litigators in Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as across England we cover all UK jurisdictions, and are regularly instructed on international litigation and arbitrations.

DRL comprises a number of specialist teams, including commercial litigation, financial services disputes & investigations, insurance, competition and regulatory.
