We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Development Executive to join our Commercial team at our Caledonia depot. This is initially a 6 month contract.


Reporting to the Commercial Development Manager, the Commercial Development Executive is responsible for the provision of a high standard of customer engagement, are accountable for ensuring a first-class service is delivered to our customers wishing to purchase tickets or requiring information on our services, developing of our First Charge business generating new business leads and maintaining customer relations.


Key Accountabilities


  • Supply a high standard of service to customers wishing to purchase tickets or requiring information on our services.
  • Be the first point of contact for customer concerns and provide a resolution where possible.
  • Effectively manage emails daily and keep up to date with group and local activity through the Company's intranet site.
  • Administer the ticketing function across Glasgow ensuring B2B ticketing sales are fulfilled while processing payments through to the accounts department, while maintaining a monthly sales log.
  • Maintain and issue the local petty cash function and banking of cheques.
  • Fulfilling credit/debit payments for B2B activity across Glasgow .
  • Count / log all foreign revenue received into the Glasgow region.
  • Attend Travel events across Glasgow, helping to promote the B2B function.
  • Assist with the general housekeeping and presentation of the office to ensure the environment is clean and welcoming to both staff and our external customers.
  • Promote and report First Charge performance across all B2B/B2C charging sites across Glasgow.
  • Support Commercial Development Manager track and record business performance
  • Actively promote and contribute to all safety initiatives, including making announcements and safeguarding customers and colleagues.
  • Support the Commercial Development Manager with other tasks required within the department.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required to facilitate the First UK Bus aim to deliver excellent customer experiences.


Along with the daily responsibilities there will be many opportunities to learn and develop new skills to support the commercial function deliver strong financials. The Commercial Development Manager will offer training and support ensuring the new candidate has full understanding of the commercial function.


Skills/Experience


  • Ability to quickly establish rapport with customers and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability to use First Bus software packages.
  • Commercially focused and financially aware
  • Knowledge of First Bus products and services
  • Good attention to detail.
