Responsibilities
- Lead the Development of Cloud Migration Strategies: As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for crafting comprehensive migration plans tailored to each client's unique needs and objectives. These strategies will encompass various hybrid cloud platforms and will be designed to optimize business outcomes post-migration.
- Collaborate with Clients for Component Mapping: Work closely with clients to meticulously map their current system components and functionalities onto Amazon Web Services (AWS) specific services. This will involve detailed discussions and a deep understanding of both the client's existing infrastructure and AWS capabilities.
- Mentor Junior Consultants: Provide guidance, share knowledge, and support the professional development of junior consultants on your team. This includes conducting code reviews, offering technical advice, and facilitating learning opportunities to enhance their skills in cloud migration.
- Execute Migration Strategies: Oversee the practical implementation of migration strategies, leveraging techniques such as rehosting, refactoring, rearchitecting, and re-platforming. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring smooth transitions that meet or exceed client expectations.
- Stay Current with Emerging Trends: Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in cloud migration. This will enable you to continually refine your approach and provide cutting-edge advice to clients.

Required technical and professional expertise
- In-depth understanding of software architecture principles and extensive experience with relevant tools. Candidates should demonstrate a strong foundation in designing, implementing, and managing complex software systems.
- Profound comprehension of the Garage Method for cloud migration, with practical application in past projects. This encompasses a structured, iterative approach to delivering cloud-based solutions.
- Thorough knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS), including its suite of offerings, best practices, cost implications, and potential limitations. A strong grasp of hybrid cloud environments is particularly valuable.
- Verifiable track record of leading cross-functional teams and effectively managing stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Proven experience in overseeing the full spectrum of cloud migration projects, from planning and execution to testing and deployment. A history of successful migrations, ideally within the AWS ecosystem, is essential.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification or equivalent, demonstrating advanced technical proficiency in AWS architecture and design.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, showcasing adaptability in modern cloud-native applications.
- Background in software development, IT consulting, or cloud migration, providing a holistic understanding of the technology landscape and client needs.
- Familiarity with AWS Migration tools like AWS Migration Hub and AWS Server Migration Service, highlighting proficiency in leveraging AWS-provided resources for efficient migration processes.
