We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaner to join the facilities team at HMPPS Newbold Revel Training College — a key national training site supporting His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service.
In this role, you’ll play an important part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, trainees, and visitors across the site. You’ll ensure high standards of hygiene and presentation in all areas, helping to create a positive and professional working atmosphere.

- Shift pattern/ hours- Tuesday to Thursday 06-30-14.30/Friday -07.00-15.00
- £12.61 per hour

Job Introduction
We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaner to join the facilities team at HMPPS Newbold Revel Training College — a key national training site supporting His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service.
In this role, you’ll play an important part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, trainees, and visitors across the site. You’ll ensure high standards of hygiene and presentation in all areas, helping to create a positive and professional working atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled cleaning tasks across a range of areas, including offices, classrooms, meeting rooms, kitchens, and washrooms.
- Replenish consumables such as hand soap, sanitiser, paper towels, and toilet roll.
- Strip and make beds, supply, and sort clean linen for accommodation blocks where required.
- Follow all company and site-specific policies, including infection control, security, and COSHH regulations.
- Conduct all activities safely, wearing appropriate PPE and following Sodexo’s health and safety procedures.
- Report any safety concerns, faulty equipment, or maintenance issues to your line manager promptly.
- Maintain flexibility to assist with cleaning duties in other areas and to cover for colleagues during holidays or absences.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, ensuring all cleaning standards are consistently met.
- Undertake any required training, including security awareness and first aid, to support your role.
- Proven experience in a similar cleaning role within a corporate, service, or institutional environment.
- Strong understanding of hygiene, health and safety, and infection control standards.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
- Ability to use initiative while maintaining a professional and proactive approach.
- Willingness to undertake additional training relevant to the role.
- Ability to work in line with data protection regulations at all times.
- Must be willing to undergo security checks (BPSS minimum) as required by the client.
