Monday to Friday with flexible to work either 5am - 8am or 5pm - 8pm.
To ensure our nurseries our prepared and ready for the day, we ask that our Nursery Housekeepers work the majority of their shift “out of hours”. Our nurseries are busy with people coming and going, and so to do a great job - they need to be closed. Depending on the size of your nursery, you can choose to start your shift at 5am or 5pm. This allows you to catch up with our team and your Nursery Manager at the start or end of your shift. It is not possible to work your full shift during our opening times.
As a Nursery Housekeeper, you will be responsible for the meticulous and thorough cleaning and sanitation all areas of your nursery setting. As an integral part of the nursery team, you will support the Educators to maintain a clean, presentable, safe and well-maintained environment for the children. You will have an eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring our high standards are exceeded, reflecting this in your work whilst carefully following COSHH and all relevant policies and procedures. You will be required to work either before our nursery opens at 7:30am or towards the end of the day after 5pm. A full UK driving licence or close proximity to the nursery is essential for this role and you will be a reliable and responsible key holder.

Description of Duties
Deliver: Deliver an amazing service, for both our children and families
Clean all areas of the nursery including toilets, kitchen, play rooms and staff areas.
Clean all surfaces including tables, chairs, shelves, sinks, windows and doors - paying special attention to “high contact” areas including security access panels, door handles and light switches.
Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all areas.
Empty all litter bins and remove waste from the setting, disposing of it appropriately in either general waste, recycling or sanitary bins.
Ensure all high and low level dusting is completed, including underneath furniture.
Assist with the daily washing of nursery laundry including washing, drying and storage.
Assist with the deep cleanse of the nursery when required, including carpet cleaning and steralisation of toys and equipment.
Take Ownership: Take ownership in everything, always being honest and transparent
Ensure there is sufficient stock levels and correct equipment within the nursery, ensuring shortages do not prevent a high level of cleaning.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and any other person who may be affected by your activities.
Complete all duties in accordance with the setting and company guidelines, completing weekly diary sheets and checklists where applicable.
Be aware and comply with all COSHH documents and their contents.
Present yourself in a presentable and professional manner, always “Dressed for Service”.
Commit: Commit to continuous improvement, always strive to be and do the best
Ensure attendance at any company training or meetings, where applicable to your role.
Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post.

Professionally and effectively liaise with the Assistant Nursery Manager and Nursery Manager, reporting any maintenance issues.
Experience
Cleaning and/or housekeeping experience
Knowledge of/training in COSHH is advantageous but not essential
